Did you pay for your Covid-19 Test??
Most, if not all of us have friends and, or, loved ones who have had Covid-19 test. Did you pay for your test? Should you be required to pay for the test if you have health insurance?
Well, well, well? You should probably not be required to pay for Covid-19 testing.
“Will Blue Shield cover COVID-19 screening and testing?
Yes. Blue Shield will waive out-of-pocket costs for co-payments, coinsurance, and deductibles for COVID-19 diagnostic testing and related screening services ordered using telemedicine and for testing and screening services ordered or performed in a doctor’s office, urgent care, hospital, or emergency room in accordance with applicable state and federal law.”
You should not be required to pay if testing was prescribed as medically necessary diagnostic (PCR or antigen) and diagnostic serological (antibody) testing. Here is the maybe. If testing procedure that you request has not been approved by FDA, then the test may not be covered.
Debbie spoke to Teladoc doctor and he recommended Covid-19 testing. Debbie scheduled for today and requested the one hour test. She was required to pay $150 and was told to submit to Blue Shield for reimbursement.
